Jness helped me recognize my unique qualities as a woman - to rise up as a leader for social change. During my first weekend workshop, I felt a fire reignited within me to step up in every area of my life to be a catalyst for change in the world. I didn’t realize how small I had been living my life, stifling my potential, but Jness helped me see and embrace the whole me and my capacity to help move and shift the world toward a focus on upholding all of humanity. To be in community amongst a diverse and international network of women, who lovingly and firmly show up for one another, and are all committed to improving society in some way, has humbled and inspired me to be a better version of myself every day.
Jness to me is about friendship. It’s about knowing myself and the value I bring to my environment to build stronger, more compassionate and honest relationships. It's about feeling more confident about being myself. It's learning that my assumptions about men are often inaccurate, and building a better understanding of and closer relationships to the men in my life; starting with my husband and my father. Jness has helped me define and connect with the kind of woman I want to be; the kind of friend, wife, sister, daughter, and soon, mother, that I want to be. And it’s the only space I have found where I can actually access a curriculum that helps me build all of that!
Jness has helped me transform the way that I view my role as a woman in society and has significantly shifted the way I care for and express myself in the world. Jness has helped me see that my potency and potential are best actualized by nurturing and embracing my femininity, and the qualities that make me who I am; not denying them. As a result, my relationships, family dynamics, and work life have become much richer than I could have imagined. Every woman is unique, but many of us share similar struggles. Being a part of a worldwide network of women who support and uphold each other and are dedicated to growing themselves, and transforming the feminine presence in society is as necessary as it is beautiful.
I have always admired the success of my grandparents’ long standing relationship. Through everything, they have always put the value of building family above all else, and have fostered the growth of the next generation in my family. Theirs is the kind of relationship I’ve always wanted, and thanks to Jness I feel closer to building that in my life. Jness has helped me understand the dynamics between men and women which has helped me create a relationship with a level of communication that I never thought was possible. I am so much closer to the men in my life and the more I learn about myself as a woman, the stronger my relationships become. I recommend Jness to any woman who wants to understand herself better and seeks to strengthen relationships in all areas of her life.
I am Egyptian and I come from a culture where women have a certain defined role in society, which is very different to that of the United States. I found my experience of living away from home to be a cultural eye-opener. By Egyptian standards, I acted “girly”, but after moving to the United States, I was told I acted more “manly”. I felt confused about why I did things in a certain way and why I followed certain rules; but after being in Jness, I started to question what it really meant to be a woman and how we could evolve these societal roles. The on-going monthly education has allowed me to start to discover and express my true self, and live with more joy and compassion for myself and others.
